Introduction to Ghorepani-Poon Hill Trek

Trekking into the annapurna region, Poon hill & Ghorepani trek start and end at a beautiful city of west Nepal Pokhara. This trek is a colorful and one of the short forays into the Annapurna region. The trail winds through patchwork valleys, dense mossy forests and pass icy waterfalls where you can stop to cool your face. The attraction of this trek is Poon Hill (3,193m), the highest viewpoint of your trek from where you can’t only enjoy a superb panorama of both Annapurna (8,091m) and Dhaulagiri (8,167m) but also a very splendid and magnificent view of sunrise.

Around every corner is a tantalizing glimpse of the high mountains, whole horizons of which will be revealed to you as you reach the high points of your trek. Enjoy trekking in the spectacular mountain scenery through charming villages inhabited by the Gurungs, Magars, dense rhododendron forest, full of birds and deep sub-tropical valleys. As the sun touches the snow-capped summits, the Himalayan giants, Dhaulagiri and Annapurna along with a maze of other peaks slowly begin to appear, like magic, before our eyes.

Poon hill & Ghorepani trek is considered as one of the easy and soft treks, even the old age person or schoolboys can participate on this trek as it involves all most NO high altitude risks. This trek covers the lower part of the Annapurna sanctuary trek but still, it covers all the attractions that have with the Annapurna sanctuary trek i.e. stunning mountain views, local cultures, traditions, and local living lifestyle.

It's been more than a year since we went to Nepal, but the the memories are still in our hearts. It has been one of our favorite trips and we will definitely visit again. Dawa took care of us like family and we'll be forever thankful for their generosity and kindness. Thank you for showing us the Himalayas from Poon Hill and for touring us in Kathmandu. xoxo Mike and Yss

I have just returned from a wonderful, first, visit to Nepal. My husband and I trekked in the popular Annapurna area (it was a warmup for his Kanchenjunga trip) under the welcome care of Tenzin Jorden and Namgyal. It gave such richness to have their knowledge, kindness and support - always shared with warmth and a ready smile. The mountains took the breath away!
Thank-you so much Dawa. I am recommending Dream Himalaya Adventures to everyone!...and look forward to coming back.
